Questions parents ask
Does it give children the answer?
It's designed not to. It guides the method in small steps — visuals, manipulatives, hints — and breaks a step down smaller when your child is stuck, instead of revealing the answer.
If you ever see it slip, tell us — there's a report button right in the lesson.
Is Professor Paws an AI tutor?
It teaches the next step, checks arithmetic in code, and has no chat. The AI writes the lesson — pacing, wording, encouragement — and every phonics letter sound is real recorded human speech.
What data do you collect about my child?
The minimum a learning coach needs: a parent email, a nickname, your child's age, the schoolwork you enter, and learning progress. (When homework photos arrive, they are processed to read the task and not stored in your child's profile.)
Handwriting stays on the device. Nothing is sold, shared for ads, or used to train AI. Details in our Privacy Policy.
What ages and subjects?
Children roughly 8–13, met at the level they're actually working at. The beta covers spelling and phonics; addition, subtraction, times tables, division, fractions, telling time, and money; and home reading passages.
Is a diagnosis required?
No. It's for children who learn differently or regularly find homework overwhelming — with or without a formal diagnosis.
What device, and what will it cost?
Professor Paws is being built as an iPad app planned for the Apple App Store. Private beta families will be invited to test early before public launch.
The private beta is free. If we launch a paid subscription, you'll see the price before paying anything.
